Sarasota, FL – April 3, 2017……… .The Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation (FCSF), a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients, announced the promotion of Lynn Rasys to Executive Director, following the retirement of Valerie Vance. Previously, Lynn was the FCS Foundation Volunteer Program Manager responsible for recruiting, training and scheduling volunteers at facilities currently participating in the FCS Volunteer Patient Support Program, as well as developing and identifying additional Florida Cancer Specialists’ facility opportunities throughout the state. Lynn also coordinated the volunteers at the Foundation office in Sarasota and at Foundation events.

In her role as Executive Director, Lynn oversees all aspects of the FCS Foundation, including strategic planning, financial oversight, staff management, program development and execution of the Foundation’s mission, vision and goals. A graduate of Salter College in Worcester, MA, Lynn has over 25 years’ experience in corporate and nonprofit management. Before joining the Foundation, she was Director of Communications and Development at Cat Depot, and responsible for media, public relations, advertising, fundraising, donor development and human resources. In 2004, Lynn became the Executive Director for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Florida Suncoast Chapter, where she was responsible for the overall operation of the six-county affiliate. In her leisure time, Lynn enjoys reading, the Florida beaches, and spending time with her family and four rescue cats. Both Lynn and her husband are from Massachusetts, and enjoy vacationing in Maine.

The Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization assisting cancer patients in need throughout the state of Florida. Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute pays for FCSF staff salaries and overhead expenses, so that nearly 100% of all donations go directly to qualified cancer patients to pay for non-medical living expenses.
