Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Receives $11,500 Grant from Community Foundation of Sarasota County
Capacity-building Grant Will Strengthen Technology Infrastructure to Better Serve Cancer Patients Across Florida
Bradenton, Fla., January 31, 2026 — Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation is pleased to announce it has received an $11,500 capacity-building grant from the Community Foundation of Sarasota County to support one year of its customer relationship management (CRM), patient screening, and volunteer management software.
This grant was made possible through the generous support of three charitable funds at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County: the Arthur T. Esslinger Memorial Fund, the William E. and Florence E. Perry Fund for Health & Human Services, and the James Franklin Warnell & Dorothy J. Warnell Fund.
The funding will enable the Foundation to enhance and maintain critical technology systems that streamline internal processes, improve data accuracy, and strengthen coordination among staff and volunteers. These improvements directly support the Foundation’s ability to efficiently identify patient needs, manage assistance requests, and deliver timely financial support to adults undergoing cancer treatment in the state of Florida.
“Capacity-building investments like this one are essential to our long-term sustainability and effectiveness,” said Lynn Rasys, Executive Director of Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation. “We are deeply grateful to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and the funds that made this grant possible. By strengthening our technology infrastructure, we can better serve cancer patients and ensure they receive compassionate, timely support when they need it most.”
The FCS Foundation is proud to be a grantee of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and to participate in initiatives such as the Giving Challenge that strengthen the nonprofit sector and enhance services across the region.
