2027 ME STRONG 5K Race – Every Step Supports Local Cancer Patients and Families Facing Their Greatest Challenge.
Bradenton, Fla., July 22, 2026 — The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation is honored to serve once again as the charitable recipient of the 2027 ME STRONG 5K, Central Florida’s largest fundraising run supporting local cancer patients and their families. The 16th annual race will be held Saturday, January 30, 2027, in DeLand, Florida. What began in 2011 as a small act of love for cervical cancer patient Linda Emery has grown into a resounding celebration of more than 7,500 annual participants whose generosity has provided nearly $3 million in financial assistance to Floridians and their families battling cancer. Guided by co-founders Barbara McCallan, Kim Winters, Kathy Guyer, Kim Martin and Linda Emery, ME STRONG remains rooted in the simple belief that friendship knows no limits.
Continuing a Tradition of Compassion
The Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation extends its sincere thanks to all sponsors, event supporters, volunteers and community partners who help make the ME STRONG 5K possible each year. Their continued generosity fuels the race’s impact and helps provide essential non-medical financial assistance to qualifying adult cancer patients and their families in the local community, no matter where they are treated.
Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) proudly serves as the 2027 Presenting Sponsor of ME STRONG. Through the generosity of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute physicians, 100% of donations go directly to helping cancer patients and their families in need. More than a sponsor, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute stands alongside the ME STRONG community in a shared commitment to ensuring that local patients can focus on healing—not financial hardship—during one of the most challenging times in their lives.
Maximizing Impact For Local Cancer Patients
“Reaching the 16-year mark is a testament to the unwavering spirit of the ME STRONG community,” said Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Board Co-Chair Raul Storey, MD. “As this race continues to grow, it expands our ability to relieve patients’ financial stress so they can focus on healing.”
Lynn Rasys, Executive Director of the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation, noted, “Registration opens on July 16, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. For the first five days, registration is only $25. Prices increase July 21, 2026, at 12:00 a.m. Whether you register, volunteer, donate, sponsor or cheer along, every act of support helps provide peace of mind to cancer patients and families navigating essential living expenses during treatment.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and community organizations that want to make a direct and immediate impact while gaining meaningful visibility with more than 7,500 participants and countless spectators. Sponsorship benefits may include race-day visibility, digital and printed promotional recognition, social media recognition, race booklet advertising, participant entries and invitations to the ME STRONG Sponsor VIP Celebration. Sponsorship commitment and payment are due by January 8, 2027.
Together, we run toward a future where no Floridian faces cancer alone.
