“Mystery Under the Stars” Offers a Fun Night of 1920s Intrigue to Benefit Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation
Bradenton, Fla., January 13, 2025 — The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation has transformed its iconic fundraiser “Party Under the Stars” into a Murder Mystery Evening set in the 1920s that includes dinner and an interactive performance from the Murder Mystery Company. “Mystery Under the Stars” will be held from 5-10 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025 at The Ora, 578 McIntosh Rd, Sarasota, FL 34232. Guests are encouraged to dress like the cat’s meow in their 1920s attire and bring their most observant crime-solving skills to unravel the secrets of a thrilling murder mystery, all while enjoying a delectable three-course dinner!
One of the many highlights of the evening is an incredible Chance Drawing for a six day/five night stay for two at The Savoy, London’s famed hotel that sparkles with timeless elegance and glamour. The Savoy redefines luxury for the 21st century. The guestrooms have stunning views of London and the River Thames and you can make the most of your stay with dinner at the one and only Savoy Grill, headed by legendary chef Gordon Ramsay. Honorary Chairs for the event are Ana Van Der Wall, MD and Bahaa Amer, MD, both of whom are medical oncologists practicing at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) clinics in Sarasota and Manatee County. Kim Becker, Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, and Amanda Baxter, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, will join the fun as Event Co-Chairs.
Mark Gordon, Managing Editor of the Business Observer, will emcee the evening. Mark has been with the Business Observer since 2005. He currently oversees the paper’s coverage from Tampa to Naples, in print and online, leading a staff of reporters and photographers, in addition to writing stories. Since 2021, he has written a biweekly leadership column, Leadership Matters, and in 2023 he began hosting a weekly podcast, From the Corner Office. He lives in east Manatee County with his wife, Elyse, and their 16-year-old son, Aaron.
