Drs. Christopher George and Julio Lautersztain Named Honorary Co-Chairs
Tampa, FL – September 7, 2017… The Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation is proud to announce that Florida Cancer Specialists’ physicians, Dr. Christopher George and Dr. Julio Lautersztain will serve as honorary co-chairs of the annual fundraising gala in Tampa. “50 Shades of Roaring Pink” will be held on October 7, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay with Allison Kropff from 10News WTSP serving as emcee.
This year, the event has a “Great Gatsby” theme and will feature flappers, a covert speakeasy, casino games and live jazz and swing music. All proceeds will benefit the FCS Foundation, which provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. In addition to events like the “50 Shades of Roaring Pink” Gala and other fundraising efforts, the FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the physician partners at Florida Cancer Specialists, so 100% of donations (net of events) benefit cancer patients in need.
Brad Prechtl, CEO of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) and Board Chair of the FCS Foundation, said, “Since 2012, the Foundation has continued to grow and every year the number of cancer patients we assist has increased. We believe that cancer patients should not have to choose between paying their rent and receiving treatment. The Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation helps with these bills so that patients can concentrate on getting well.”
When asked about his role as Honorary Co-Chair, Dr. Christopher George said, “I am very excited to be a part of this special evening. As an oncologist, I see the impact cancer has on patients and their families. I am grateful to serve as Honorary Co-Chair of an event that makes a difference in the lives of patients and their families affected by cancer.”
Dr. Julio Lautersztain, Honorary Co-Chair, added, “50 Shades of Roaring Pink” couldn’t be a success without the continued support from the local community and our sponsors. I am delighted to be Honorary Co-Chair of this unique event which will directly benefit cancer patients and their families.”
Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys said, “This fundraiser has been a favorite with our supporters in the greater Tampa Bay area. The event brings people together from the community, business and industry, and the medical field to support the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation and helps raise needed funds for patients undergoing cancer treatment.”
Event tickets are $175 per person, or $1,750 for a table of 10, and include a cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, entertainment and dancing. The evening will also feature a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting the FCS Foundation.
Event sponsorships are now available. Gala tickets and sponsorships can be purchased on Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation’s website at Foundation.FLCancer.com/Pink17 or by calling 941.677.7192.
