Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Hosted Wine, Women & Shoes

Lake Mary, FL – November 19th, 2018… On November 3rd, 2018, the Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation hosted the third annual Wine, Women & Shoes Lake Mary at the Westin. The event was chaired by FCS physician Dr. Jennifer Cultrera and raised more than $70,000 net to help adult cancer patients with their necessary living expenses.

Wine, Women & Shoes (WWS) is the fastest-growing charity event series created for and by women in the United States. From Ronald McDonald House Charities to YMCAs, food banks to animal shelters, WWS has helped over 100 ambitious non-profits engage with new supporters and raise over $65 million in net revenue, all in an entertaining, empowering atmosphere. With great wine, of course!

The Foundation’s Wine, Women & Shoes event had a “Girls’ Day Out” theme that featured a marketplace of boutique “storefronts,” where attendees could shop for shoes, jewelry and other fashion accessories while sampling wines from across the country. Guests enjoyed a live and silent auction, a photo shoot area, a fashion show by Bloomingdales and a fun, spirited “Key to the Closet” raffle to win a closetful of fashion accessories and gift certificates.

All proceeds benefitted the FCS Foundation, which provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. The FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the Florida Cancer Specialists’ physician partners, so 100% of donations benefit cancer patients in need.

Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation Board Member and FCS CMSO Shelly Glenn said, “Wine, Women and Shoes is a premiere charity event that demonstrates the power of women to raise money and awareness for non-profits for which we are passionate. In addition to donating to a great cause, more local women were informed about the FCS Foundation’s mission to assist cancer patients with essential non-medical living expenses.”

When asked about her role as Honorary Chair, Dr.  Jennifer Cultrera added, “I am grateful that I had the opportunity to serve as the Honorary Chair of an event that raises money to make a difference in the lives of patients and their families affected by cancer. As an oncologist, I see the impact cancer has on patients and their families.”

Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys said, “Wine, Women & Shoes is about friends coming together for a day of fashion, fun and shopping while raising funds for cancer patients in need – the FCS Foundation cannot wait until the next event!”
