Jodi Murphy Chairs Wine, Women & Shoes, and Drs. Jennifer Cultrera and Maria Regina Flores Named Honorary Co-Chairs
Sarasota, FL – August 1, 2019… Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) Foundation is excited to announce that Jodi Murphy, Esq. from Murphy & Berglund, PLLC Attorneys at Law will Chair Wine, Women & Shoes Lake Mary, and Florida Cancer Specialists Physicians Dr. Jennifer Cultrera and Dr. Maria Regina Flores were named honorary co-chairs. The event will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary, 1501 International Parkway, Lake Mary, FL.
In the last decade, Wine, Women & Shoes has produced more than 400 fashion fundraising events across the United States. This event creates an enhanced atmosphere of giving, where community-minded, philanthropic women (and a few good men) gather to sip, shop, savor and support a worthy cause in a chic and innovative way. Guests will enjoy an energetic atmosphere with exciting live and silent auctions, “Key to the Closet” raffle, “Best in Shoe” contest, a fashion show by popular local boutiques, and charming Sole Men dishing up must-have items on silver platters.
All funds collected will directly benefit the FCS Foundation, which provides financial assistance for non-medical living expenses to qualified cancer patients who are currently undergoing treatment in Florida. The FCS Foundation’s overhead is paid by the physicians at Florida Cancer Specialists, so 100% of donations (net of events) benefit cancer patients in need.
FCS Foundation Board Member and Florida Cancer Specialists’ Medical Oncologist Dr. Maen Hussein said, “It is an honor to support Wine, Women & Shoes Lake Mary for the third year. Events like this help us raise much-needed funds that directly benefit cancer patients in Florida.”
Event Chair Jodi Murphy added “As a supporter of the FCS Foundation, I attended the Wine, Women & Shoes event last year in memory of my mom, who lost her battle to ovarian cancer in 2018. During her four-year battle, it was an eye-opening experience to see how many cancer fighters were impacted financially, as well as physically and emotionally. Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation helps ease some of the financial burdens that can be so devastating to cancer patients so they can focus on more important things, like spending time with loved ones.”
Honorary Co-Chair Dr. Jennifer Cultrera said, “It is truly a privilege to serve as honorary co-chair of this event again. I have seen first-hand the lives impacted and improved through the hard work of the Foundation. Funds are raised so that qualified cancer patients do not have to choose between receiving treatment and paying for their critical living expenses.”
“When someone is diagnosed with cancer, the whole family is affected and often consumed with economic stress,” said Honorary Co-Chair Dr. Flores. “Fighting cancer can be challenging without also having to fight to keep your lights on and make your mortgage payments. It is humbling to be a part of such a critical mission.
“Foundation Executive Director Lynn Rasys said, “In addition to Wine, Women & Shoes being a fabulous event, it enables us to raise awareness about the FCS Foundation.
